Background
Janine Broome is Head of Strategic Initiatives and Company Secretary within AirTanker. With over 20 years of project management experience, her current role spans several areas related to the development of corporate strategy and enterprise planning and she is responsible for the delivery of key strategic initiatives including ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance).
Janine applied for chartered accreditation, to demonstrate a measure of credibility and commitment to professional practice.

Why did you decide on applying for chartered accreditation/what does it mean to you?
My organisation is keen to support APM qualifications across the Programmes team – at the appropriate level for the individual. Applying, and gaining, Chartership was a consolidation and recognition of my number of years as a Project Manager.
I believe it will be invaluable as I move forward in my career.

What did you find most useful in the support you received during writing your application form?
My written application was reviewed by Tony (my trainer) to ensure that I had met the criteria required.
The criteria is detailed, and it is easy to miss a key point or word things in such a way that they will not be counted.
Tony’s review and advice was critical in ensuring that my written submission was successful.
What did you find most useful in the interview preparation support?
I completed a couple of mock interviews with Tony. They really helped to highlight areas where I needed to complete more revision and enabled me to focus on what the interviewees would be looking for – and to coach me to say I not we!
