Why did you choose the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship?
Having previously worked in data analytics, I had no formal training in project management. At the start of 2023 I moved into my current role where I needed to manage the design and build of a new algae production plant, the level 4 associate project manager apprenticeship was an essential step in familiarising myself with project management best practice.
How easy was it to enrol on the programme?
I found the enrolment process really simple. Provek did a good job of ensuring I knew what the apprenticeship would consist of and that I was the right fit before I progressed on to the course itself. The programme of work for the apprenticeship is well structured and logical so learners can focus on the course’s content with clarity rather than being bogged down in admin.
How has the programme supported you in developing into your role and supported career progression?
My current role is to design and build an algae production plant. This project has been a steep learning curve for me as I don’t come from an engineering or project management background.
Since starting the apprenticeship, I have felt a significant increase in my confidence in running a project of this nature, building a solid foundational knowledge in typical project management skills, but also in procurement & contracting and business case work & strategy to name a few.
What did you enjoy most about the programme?
The opportunity to reflect on specific topics on a consistent basis was useful. Often, it’s difficult to get the time to spend on these kinds of reflections, but they are invaluable in building your practical understanding, particularly when you are just starting your learning.
