The challenge
Southern Water identified a need to improve the project management skills across those who lead or play a key role in delivering projects within the organisation. Southern Water had already identified Association for Project Management (APM) as the professional body it wished to align to. The requirement for Provek was to provide high quality APM aligned project management training at multi levels.
The solution
With over 15 years of experience as a leading APM Accredited Provider of training, Provek delivered both Introductory Certificate: The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (2-day classroom) and APM PMQ: The APM Project Management Qualification (5-day classroom) to Southern Water staff from a broad range of functions and disciplines from across Southern Water. The training in cross-functional groups of up to 12 maximum per classroom session for quality purposes, was delivered at locations best placed for the Southern Water participants.
Use of the powerful Provek APM PMQ Book and access to award winning out-of-classroom video learning resources via The PM Channel enhance the learning experience for participants. Key to the training success was delivering the APM syllabus in context to Southern Water and throughout the training, our expert trainers facilitated the participants in mapping the APM principles to Southern Water life cycle and processes. This was very important in embedding the understanding for application in the work place thereafter.
