What is APM Training?
The Association for Project Management (APM) is the chartered professional body for project management within the UK. Setting standards and developing the sector, APM unites more than 35,000 individual members and 450 corporate members.
An APM project management course develops an understanding of best practice methodologies promoted by the Association for Project Management and our accredited courses enable delegates to obtain valuable skills and achieve industry-recognised qualifications including APM PFQ, PMQ, PPQ, ChPP and Risk Level 1&2.
What Type of APM Project Management Training Is Right for You?
When deciding what type of APM project management training to undertake it can be helpful to benchmark your skills and experience against industry expectations. Provek offers our (free-to-use) PMALite skills assessment that will provide you with a personal report that identifies your development gaps and recommends the relevant APM qualification, helping to support you in developing as a project manager and your career progression.
The APM career pathway of qualifications consists of the Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), Project Management Qualification (PMQ), Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) and Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).
- The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) is ideal for professionals who are just starting out in project management, providing a high-level overview of the project lifecycle and a fundamental awareness of project management terminology.
- The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is aimed at those with 12 months or more experience in managing projects and provides an in-depth level of project management knowledge sufficient to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.
- The APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) draws on a candidate’s existing skills developed through experience, supported by their theory and study. Covering the core and specific competencies project professionals require across all areas of the profession, PPQ is the most comprehensive assessment of professional project management capability available.
- Chartered (ChPP) is a benchmark of professional project practice, providing independent recognition of your proven capabilities. It allows holders to demonstrate responsible leadership and the competencies necessary for effective project, programme or portfolio management – including the ability to manage a complex project and ability to use appropriate tools, processes and techniques.
Provek offers a range of flexible individual and corporate training options, including online study through our PM Channel video platform, virtual public courses, specialist coaching (PPQ and ChPP) and in-house virtual and face-to-face courses.
