APM PFQ two-day virtual classroom

Course overview

Provek's two-day virtual classroom course will enable delegates to attain the level of competence required to pass the Association of Project Management (APM) Project Fundamentals BoK7 Qualification (PFQ). The one-hour multiple choice exam is taken at the end of the second day.

Course specification

Who should attend:

Project team members, project planners, project office staff, project coordinators, junior or inexperienced project managers, work package leads and any staff new to project management who require a broad insight in to project management principles and best-practice.

Duration:

Two days virtual training over video conference.

Timings:

Day 1 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Day 2 – 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Examination:

One-hour online examination of 60 multiple choice questions. This is booked through Provek.

The exam is scheduled at 1pm the day after training has completed (this can be an alternative time for inhouse courses – please discuss with your Provek account manager).

Venues:

The training is delivered over Zoom video conferencing.

Course style:

The course is tutor-led ‘virtual’ classroom style over Zoom, with participative exercises, case studies and revision questions.

The Zoom tool provides a powerful combination of video, virtual whiteboards and breakout rooms for small-group exercises. It simulates very closely a classroom learning environment but with the advantage or geographic flexibility and zero travel costs.

Pre-course study:

Approximately five hours.

Pre-requisites:

None. However, some project experience is an advantage.

Qualification details

APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) – formerly known as Introductory Certificate, is designed for those embarking on a project management career or for individuals who require recognition for their general project management knowledge and awareness.

The course is based upon the Association for Project Management’s Body of Knowledge 7th edition and covers the syllabus for the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification examination. The course covers a wide range of topics at a summary level thus providing attendees with a broad understanding of project management terminology, basic techniques and the people and skills required to successfully manage a project. The one-hour online examination is taken at the end of the second day.
