APM Risk Management Level 1 (APM-accredited)

Course overview

This Level 1 certificate course will give delegates an increased understanding of the risk management process, the people issues involved and the techniques commonly used.

Who should attend:

Project managers, work package leads, programme managers or key project staff involved in risk management.

Duration:

This two-day course includes an examination that is booked at a separate time following training. Pre-course reading and evening work required.

Our public courses are delivered virtually. Inhouse courses can be delivered virtually, or face-to-face at your office location.

Timings:

Day 1: 9am to 5pm

Day 2: 9am to 5pm

Examination:

One-hour multiple choice exam with an external invigilator. The exam is held at the end of the course.

Venues:

Virtual public training is delivered using Zoom interactive video conferencing which allows you to learn using a powerful combination of video, virtual whiteboards and breakout rooms for small-group exercises.

In-house single client courses can be delivered virtually or held at the client’s selected venue.

Pre-requisites:

Ideally, a minimum of six months practical project experience and good basic project management skills and knowledge.

Qualification details

Risk management is a distinct and specific area within APM’s Body of Knowledge and a key control function within any project or programme. APM offers Project Management Risk certificates at Levels 1 and 2, which are designed for those who are involved in project risk management at various levels.

Virtual tutor-led public classroom: Two-day virtual tutor-led course for individual delegates with up to five hours pre-course and homework study and the one-hour exam booked/taken following training.

Virtual and face-to-face inhouse classroom: Two-day course for inhouse cohorts, with up to five hours pre-course and homework study and the one-hour exam at the end of day two.
