APM Risk Management Certificate Level 2

Course overview

This two-day course builds on the knowledge covered on the Risk Management Level 1 certificate (a highly recommended pre-requisite) and focuses on the application of that knowledge to a project scenario via a series of exam style questions. This will prepare delegates for the Level 2 exam.

APM Project Risk Management Level 2 is designed to determine an individual’s knowledge, understanding and capability in project risk management sufficient to allow an individual to undertake formal project risk management.

Who should attend:

Project managers, risk managers and coordinators, programme managers or key project staff involved in risk management.

Duration:

Classroom learning option: This two-day course includes an examination at the end of Day Two. Pre-course reading and evening work required. Public courses are delivered virtually, in house courses can be delivered virtually or face-to-face.

Online learning: 15 hours study on PM Channel.

Examination:

Three hours and 15 minutes written examination with an external invigilator. The examination is taken seperately online a week later after training.

Venues:

Virtual classroom training: delivered using Zoom interactive video conferencing which allows you to learn using a powerful combination of video, virtual whiteboards and breakout rooms for small-group exercises.  It simulates very closely a classroom learning environment but with the advantage of geographic flexibility and zero travel costs. Access to Zoom is provided by Provek, delegates do not need to purchase Zoom.

In-house single client courses are held at the client’s selected venue.

Price:

Two-day virtual classroom is £757 + VAT per delegate. Exam is not included and is required to be booked directly with the APM (current fee is £591.60).

Course style:

The course is participative in nature utilising plenary presentation sessions, group discussions, individual and group exercises and examples.  There will be a written examination.

Pre-requisites:

It is possible to take Level 2 without taking Level 1; however, the Level 2 assumes the knowledge of the Level 1 syllabus. We recommend that candidates complete Level 1 training. Provek offer this course in both classroom and blended formats.

At least five hours study using a pre-course study guide, APM PRAM guide and PM Channel.

Qualification details

Risk management is a distinct and specific area within APM’s Body of Knowledge and a key control function within any project or programme. APM offers Project Management Risk certificates at Levels 1 and 2, which are designed for those who are involved in project risk management at various levels.

Level 2 learning options

Classroom: Two-day tutor-led course with up to five hours pre-course and homework study. The one-hour online exam is taken a week later following training. Provek offer virtual public courses (see our schedule for current dates). It is also available as an in-house option which can be delivered virtual or face-to-face. Online: Up to 15 hours directed online learning on The PM Channel followed by the three-hour exam at a Provek public scheduled course venue.
